ASSISTANT MANAGER - RESEARCH - Karachi

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to lead research initiatives and develop evidence-based protocols to enhance the quality and efficiency of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) within the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORTIES:

• Lead, design, and implement qualitative and quantitative research projects to advance EMS services and organizational efficiency.
• Develop research protocols, collect and interpret data using statistical methods and software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, SAS), and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Author and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals; present findings at conferences.
• Oversee data visualization and presentation of research results, using tools such as Power BI to inform management and stakeholders.
• Identify funding opportunities, write grants, and manage funded research projects to support research initiatives.
• Oversee research project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project execution.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015, JCIA, and other relevant standards within the department’s research and training activities.
• Assist in implementation of all training & evaluation monitoring tools; including systems developed for tracking and monitoring of data of students, classes, trainings and equipment for audit.
• Maintain detailed records of research activities, training sessions, and compliance audits.
• Work closely with physicians, field staff, and clinical trainers to identify research priorities, monitor progress, and adjust methodologies.
• Provide insights and recommendations for strategic initiatives based on research findings, contributing to organizational planning and decision-making.
• Stay current with advancements in EMS and healthcare research by attending conferences and networking with global EMS committees.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management, summarizing research outcomes, progress, and impacts on service quality.

Qualification: MBBS/BDS / Allied Health Sciences, or a Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, or a related field from an HEC-recognized institution. Additional certification or diploma in Healthcare Management, Quality Management, or Advanced Clinical Training is preferred.

Training/Courses: (preferable): 1-3 years of experience in research within a healthcare or EMS organization, with a proven record of publishing research papers.
